From New Zealand New Exchange at Taranaki Diocesan School for Girls Has Just Begun

Hi, everyone! I’m Aoba Endo, an exchange student studying at Taranaki Diocesan School for Girls in Taranaki ,New Zealand.  I left Japan on January 24 for New Zealand.  It took us about more than 10 hours from Narita Airport to Auckland.  After this long flight, I was very tired. However, I was surprised that the meals provided by Air NZ tasted so great because I did not have positive image about in-flight meal.

Then, we transferred at Auckland Airport to take a domestic flight to New Plymouth. I was a little scared because the flight ship was a rather small aircraft than airplanes I have taken.

When I arrived in New Plymouth, my host family came to meet me at the New Plymouth.  As I didn’t know what to talk to them ,my anxiety just kept growing. However, they talked to me about the city, so I could get relaxed.

Finally, I will introduce my host family. Mellisa is my host mother. She teaches science in Taranaki Diocesan School for Girls. When I can’t understand English, she always helps me.

Aaron is my host father. He run on the farm. He is good at cooking. This is the picture that he made me a hamburger. It’s so delicious.  ‪The hamburger is bigger than an ordinary hamburger.

Lukas is my host brother. He is a very smart and knowledgeable person. He taught me about the game when I played game of life with him.  So I could convince his explanation.

Choen is my host brother, too. He is always quiet, but he likes to sing. Also he is good at making something by using LEGO.

Alinka is my host sister. She is always singing and she performed the song of Frozen 2 for me. She is so cute.

My host family have a lot of animals. They have a cat, two horses, several ducks, and two goats. Our town is blessed with nature.  I’m really looking forward to how much I will be able to grow in three months.  It is difficult to study IELTS, but I want to do my best without escaping.

皆さんこんにちは！！　タラナキ・ディオに留学中の遠藤青葉です。私は1月24日にオークランドに向けて出発しました。フライトは約10時間以上あり、とても疲れました。私は機内食に対して美味しいというイメージはありませんでした。しかし、このニュージーランド航空の機内食は、凄く美味しくて驚きました。

オークランド国際空港に到着してから、乗り換えてニュープリマスまで約１時間かかりました。国内線の小型機は普通の飛行機より小さいため少し怖かったです。ニュープリマスに着いたらホストファミリーが出迎えてくれました。車の中では何を話せばいいのか不安でした。でも優しく話しかけてくれたので、少し緊張がほぐれました。

最後に私のホストファミリーを紹介します。

1人目はMellisaです。彼女はタラナキ・ディオで先生をしています。私が何か分からない事があったら何でも教えてくれます。

2人目はAaronです。彼は家で農園をしています。彼は凄く料理が上手です。この写真はAaronが作ってくれたハンバーガーです。今まで見たことのないくらいの大きさでした。

3人目はLukasです。彼は12歳です彼は凄く頭が良くて物知りです。一緒に人生ゲームをした時沢山説明してくれて助かりましたー。

4人目はchoenです。彼は7歳です。彼は普段は大人しいです。彼はレゴで遊ぶ事が好きです。

5人目はchoenです。彼女はいつも歌っています。この間はアナ雪の歌を歌ってくれました。凄く可愛かったです。

私のホストファミリーは沢山の動物を飼っています。猫、馬二匹、アヒルたくさん、ヤギ2匹です。私達の街は豊かな自然に恵まれています。　私は3ヶ月後どのくらい成長しているかすごく楽しみです。IELTSの勉強は難しいですが、逃げずに頑張りたいと思います。
