From Australia – Update on the report from St. Andrew’s Catholic College

A new St. Andrew’s report came to us from Australia.  Honoka Sugita, an exchange student, will share with you her great experiences there.

Hello! I’m Honoka Sugita, one of the exchange students at St. Andrew’s Catholic College in Cairns, Australia. I can’t believe that 3 weeks have already past because I enjoy my life here very much.  In this report, I’m going to tell you about my last few weeks.

Firstly, I want to tell you about my school life. On the 10th of May, we had a sports carnival. Because it was such a hot day, we put on sunscreen a lot. We received a sticker that changed its colour into transplant one if you put some sunscreen on before the start of the day.  It means that we can get to know when to put on more by using the sticker. It’s very useful and great for us to protect from sunshine, which is safe! I want it to be more popular in Japan.

On that day, I tried discus. I haven’t done that kind of sport before, but I really enjoyed it. Also, I painted my face and arms with zinc. My friends painted all of their faces. It was very amusing.

Of course, my regular school days are fun. My favorite subject is a class of film, tv and new media. In this class, we are making a movie. In Otsuma Nakano, we don’t have this kind of class, so I find it really interesting.

Secondly, I want to tell you about my last weekend. We went to Herberton historical village. It is located on the mountain, so the weather was cool. There are many old things since the 1900s. For example, an old school, old houses, newspapers, typewriters and so on.  I liked that kind of things, so I really had a good time. Whilst there, we got on a train. I felt the wind refreshing me and it was very fun!  In the old school, my host sisters played roles of teachers. It was so cute, and we enjoyed it!

This photo is my favorite. I think this shoe store reproduction was nice and cute, wasn’t it?

This is my last few weeks. I’m enjoying every day! Thank you for reading. See you in next my report ?
