Now another exchange kick off report from Cairns, Australia reached us.  Hinako Murata, an exchange student for  St. Andrew’s Catholic College in Cairns, Australia as our sister school.  She just started her term 2 integration with St. Andrew’s as well as the other Term 2 student, Honoka Sugita.

Hello! Everyone! I’m Hinako Murata. I am studying abroad at St. Andrew’s Catholic college in Australia for Term 2 from April 21st to Jun 29th. I am enjoying my life here in Australia with my host family.

In my first report, I would like to write about my home stay. The time when I arrived at the Cairns airport was very early morning of 4:50 AM.  However, my host family was there at the airport to pick me up with the whole family, and they brought my name card and gave me a koala stuffed toy when they came to the airport to welcome me. So, when I met with them, I was getting more and more excited about starting my life in Australia.

Then, I will introduce my host family. The family is my host mother, host father, host sister Emma and dog. The dog’s name is Aoki.  It sounds interesting because the name of the dog originated from Japanese family name. After the school I am always watching movie and play game with Emma.

Anyway, it’s only 2weeks since I came here.  But my host family has been taking me to lots of different places. Crocodile zoo, Kuranda, and Green Island, where we can get a full view of the city of Cairns.

This is my home stay life so far until now. I’m having fun and interesting experiences in Australia!!. Thank you so much for reading my report. Have good day!.

こんにちは！4 月 20 日から 6 月 29 日までオーストラリアのケアンズにあるセント・アンドリュースにターム留学をしている高校２年生の村田日向子です。私の第1回目のレポートでは、ホームステイ先での生活について書こうと思います。

私がオーストラリア・ケアンズの空港に到着したのは朝の 4 時というとても早い時間にもかかわらずホストファミリー全員で私のことを空港まで迎えに来てくださいました。空港に迎えに来てくださったときに上の写真にあるカードをもって待って下さり、またホストシスターがコアラのぬいぐるみをプレゼントしてくれました。

私のホストファミリーを紹介します。私のホストファミリーはホストマザーとホストファザー、ホストシスターの Emma の３人と Aoki という名前の犬がいました。ホストシスターの Emma は学校で日本語の授業を選択していて、日本からのお土産としてけん玉をあげるととても喜んで遊んでくれました。また、セント・アンドリュース校は日本の学校に比べてとても早く終わるので、家に帰ってからは映画を見たり、ゲームをしたりなど、自分で過ごす時間がたくさんあります。

オーストラリアについてからまだ二週間くらいしかたっていませんが、祝日が多くたくさんの場所に連れていってもらいました。例えば、写真にあるようにワニ園や Kuranda、Green Island などに連れていってもらいました。

まだまだホストファミリーや学校の友達や授業の話を聞きとれないことが多いですが、次のレポートを書く時までには少しでも成長できているようにしたいです。皆さんも新学期が始まり様々なことがあると思いますが頑張ってください！！
