Otsuma Nakano Won 1st and 2nd in Meiho School English Presentation Contest

We are very proud to inform you of that Otsuma Nakano won first and second in Meiho School Presentation Contest on July 29th, 2018.

Meiho School, in Higashi Murayama, held the final of its presentation contest on July 29th. The topic was ‘How to make a positive social change’.  Two participants from Otsuma Nakano, Mariko Tezuka (JHS 3rd grade), Risa Hamamatsu (JHS 1st Grade), successfully made it past the first-round of a paper exam.

After passing the first-round judging in mid-July, the top 8 students came to Meiho school to perform their presentations for the final. Otsuma Nakano was lucky enough to have two students in the final.

Both girls spent a lot of time practicing their presentations, supported by Mr. Vickers and Mr. McMahon, and they performed brilliantly on the day. In fact, our students won 1st and 2nd prize, a fantastic result for Otsuma Nakano!

Mariko won the top prize for an excellent speech about inequality in Japanese education, and Risa won 2nd prize for an entertaining speech about global warming. Risa was also the only 1st grade student to compete in the final, so extra congratulations to her.
