From New Zealand_A new exchange report on New Plymouth Girls High School_180527

Another new report came to us from Arisa Odagiri, an exchange student in New Zealand, who is currently studying at New Plymouth Girls High School.

Hi everyone! I’m Arisa Odagiri, an exchange student studying at New Plymouth Girls High School in New Zealand. I have been staying in NZ for one month. New Plymouth is basically sunny, but suddenly it rains a lot. I will tell you about my NZ life.

There are four people in my host family. My host family is very kind and friendly.  My host mother works at home, so basically when I come home from school there are people in my house.  I thought it was different from Japanese way of life. I always playing with my host brother and host sister.

I’m selecting MUSIC, FNT and ESOL. In FNT I can learn about food. In ELOS all of the students there are from other countries. My favorite class is ELOS because we will do it individually depending on our own level. The class is sometimes very difficult for me, but international students and teachers kindly help me, which encourages me to do my best.

I was surprised at they can drive car at fifteen years old here in New Zealand.  I think it is very early. I would like to get used to this life as soon as possible because I want to enjoy this study abroad.

皆さんこんにちは！ニュープリマスガールズハイスクールに留学している小田切有沙です。ここに来てから1ヶ月が経ちました。ニュープリマスは基本的に晴れていますが突然雨が降り出すこともよくあります。これから私のニュージーランドの生活について報告します。

私のホストファミリーは4人家族です。ホストファミリーはとても優しくてたくさん話し掛けてくれます。ホストマザーは家で仕事をしているので基本的に家に人がいます。日本の生活とは違うなと思いました。私はいつも子供達と一緒遊んでいます。

私は学校の選択授業で音楽とFNTとESOLを選択しています。FNTでは食に関することを学べます。ESOLクラスには他の国の生徒たちがいます。一番好きな授業はESOLです。なぜかというとそれぞれのレベルに合わせて個別にやってくれるからです。授業はとても大変ですがインターナショナルの生徒や先生が助けてくれるので頑張っています。

私が驚いたことはこっちでは15歳から車が運転できるということです。とても早いなと思いました。早くこの生活に慣れてもっと良い留学にしていきたいです。
