From Australia_Report on St. Andrew’s Catholic College_180327

Now it's time for the term 1 exchange students at St. Andrew's Catholic College to say good bye to their mates, teachers and host families.   They are feeling so sad to leave Australia because their stay has been super exciting with growing in their confidence and new insights into the world.   Nanaka Otaki will report to all of you about her last amazing experiences.

Hello! I'm Nanaka Otaki with my LAST report from Cairns, Australia. I can't believe I have to leave Cairns in less than a week. Throughout this report, I'll be sharing what I did through the past week!

Last Thursday at lunch time, a lot of students shaved their hair off and some even waxed their leg hairs. These act were a part of this fundraising event for leukaemia called World's Greatest Shave. This foundation is held to raise money for blood cancer by shaving/coloring hair, waxing, chopping off pony tails, or even banishing beards. I was surprised not only because they were shaving, but because the whole school was a part of it. I think events like these should be held in Otsuma Nakano as well. It is a great cause and an opportunity to rethink about what we can do to help those in needs.

On the weekends, my friends and I went to watch a movie. One of the girls was leaving the school, and it was my last time seeing her. I was really sad, but also thankful for the opportunity to meet with her. Also, my hostfamily took me to a market in Port Douglas. It was really cool because they were selling a lot of unique stuff.

I have only 4 more days here in Cairns, and I still cannot believe how quickly these 3 months have passed!!  I honestly want to stay in Cairns for a bit longer. I have learnt and experienced so much and am so thankful for these amazing experiences here.  I will never forget all of the memories I made here and all the fantastic people I met with.

Thank you so much for reading my report! I hope you enjoyed!!
