Message for International Women’s Day  from Otsuma Nakano as a UNESCO Associated School

3月8日は、世界中で「国際女性デー International Women’s Day」　として広く認識されています。この日は、女性たちが社会のさまざまな分野で果たしてきた功績を称えるとともに、ジェンダー平等の実現に向けて今なお残されている課題について考える大切な機会です。

本校はユネスコスクールとして、国連やユネスコが定める国際デーの意義を広く伝え、持続可能な社会の実現に向けて学びと対話を深めることを大切なミッションの一つとしています。

この取り組みの一環として、国連が定めた「国際女性デー」に関して、高校3年生が取り組んだメッセージを共有します。平和、人権、ジェンダー平等教育というユネスコスクールの基本理念を踏まえ、世界共通のさまざまな課題について、一人ひとりが考えるきっかけとなることを願っています。

March 8 is widely recognized around the world as International Women’s Day. It is an important occasion to celebrate the achievements of women in various fields of society and to reflect on the challenges that still remain in achieving gender equality.

As a UNESCO Associated School, our school considers it one of our important missions to raise awareness of the international days designated by the United Nations and UNESCO, and to promote learning and dialogue toward building a sustainable society. As part of this effort, several volunteer students from our H3 class (Grade 12) have shared messages in honor of International Women’s Day. We hope that their reflections will encourage each of us to think about gender equality, a global issue that concerns us all.
