立教大学 GLAP Trial Lesson 2025 – 4年連続のチャレンジ! – 大妻中野GLCの学びを、立教大学GLAPで実践!

今年も本校の生徒が、立教大学GLAPのTrial Lessonに挑戦しました。本校は文部科学省からWWL(ワールド・ワイド・ラーニング)拠点校として採択され、国内外の大学・企業・国際機関と協働しながら、グローバルな社会課題の解決に挑む教育を展開しています。その成果を外部の舞台で試す場として、GLAP Trial Lessonはまさに絶好のチャンス。今回も本校の高校3年生3名が挑戦しました。

今年のテーマは、“‘Farming good, factory bad,’ we think. When it comes to the global food crisis, it isn’t so simple.”(The Guardian, 2023年5月26日掲載)。世界的な食糧危機という複雑かつ深刻な課題を題材に、立教大学の先生方や学生の皆さん、そして全国から集まった生徒とともに、英語でディスカッションを行いました。

大妻中野のグローバル×探究教育は、単なる知識習得にとどまらず、国際社会で必要とされる「考える力」「対話する力」「発信する力」を育むことを重視しています。今回の参加を通じて、生徒たちは普段の学びを実践に移し、GLAPの先進的なリベラルアーツ教育を直接、体験し、学ぶことで、自らの進路や将来像をより具体的に描くことができました。

本校の教育の成果が確かに力となっていることを示すこのチャレンジは、未来を切り拓くリーダー育成につながる大きな一歩です。

参加した高校3年生の振り返りレポートを以下に紹介します。

On July 26th, 2025, I joined a GLAP Trial Lesson at Rikkyo University, which gave me meaningful insights and confidence.

The professors introduced GLAP as a place to “learn how to learn.” This encouraged me to focus not only on knowledge but also on how to apply it and express my perspective clearly.

We began with an icebreaker in Japanese and English, which helped me relax and feel included. I reminded myself that speaking with confidence was more important than using perfect academic English. The small-group setting created an interactive and comfortable atmosphere that made discussion enjoyable.

At the end, the professor asked for volunteers to share their thoughts. Although I did not raise my hand, she called on me, and I was proud to summarize my group’s ideas in English. At the same time, I regretted not volunteering and learned the importance of being proactive.

This trial lesson was inspiring and showed me the unique value of GLAP’s liberal arts approach. I am grateful for this valuable opportunity.

I aspire to work in international relations, which is why I joined the GLAP Trial Lesson at Rikkyo University. Although I was nervous at first, the lesson made me more curious about GLAP and confident in my ability to challenge myself.

The theme “Farming good, factory bad” was difficult, but preparing for it encouraged me to research widely and study harder than usual. Through this process, I realized that GLAP offers an environment where students can truly grow by exploring and expressing their ideas.

During the discussion, I encountered many perspectives that I had not thought of myself. Listening to others broadened my understanding and deepened my interest in global issues. Because the group was small, I felt comfortable sharing my own views in English, which gave me new confidence.

Although it was only one lesson, it became a meaningful experience that helped me reflect on my future path and inspired me to keep learning. I am very grateful for this opportunity.

Participating in the GLAP Trial Lesson at Rikkyo University gave me valuable experiences that encouraged my growth.

The topic was the future of agriculture. At first, I was nervous and hesitant to share my ideas, but with the support of a GLAP student, I gradually gained confidence. The strong English skills and positive attitude of the other participants also inspired me to work harder.

During the discussion, I discovered perspectives that I had not considered in my preparation. This exchange broadened my understanding and showed me the value of liberal arts education and small-group learning.

Afterward, at a social gathering with GLAP students, I was impressed by the warm atmosphere, the close relationship between students and professors, and the respect shared within the program.

Through this experience, I felt the unique appeal of GLAP and became more motivated to improve myself. I am very grateful for this wonderful opportunity.
