暗闇の中の灯火 – TEDx Youth@大妻中野 2026 開催

この一歩が、世界を照らす – TEDxYouth @ Otsuma Nakano 2026 を開催しました！

大妻中野中学校・高等学校では、文部科学省から指定を受け、World Wide Learning コンソーシアム構築支援事業（WWL）拠点校として、「社会とつながる学び」を大切にしています。　その象徴的な挑戦の一つが、生徒自身の言葉で社会へメッセージを届けるTEDxYouthです。　大妻中野は、2021年度から、TEDｘのライセンスを取得し、生徒たち自身が、TEDｘのイベントを運営、実践し、今年で6年目となります。

2026年1月25日に開催したTEDxYouth @ Otsuma Nakano 2026は、「A Lantern in the Dark（暗闇の中の灯火）」をテーマに、生徒一人ひとりが自身の経験や葛藤、未来への問いを言葉にして社会へ発信しました。今年度は、アカデミックな探究アプローチを学ぶため、日本言語文化学会、日本総合文化学会の支援のもと、青山学院大学教授、大妻女子大学教授の先生方によるミニレクチャーも実施され、高校生の学びと大学・社会をつなぐ新たな挑戦となりました。　会場には、緊張感と同時に、生徒たちが生み出す言葉の力に心を動かされる温かな空気が広がりました。

当日、ステージに立った生徒たちは、成功体験だけではなく、迷い、葛藤、乗り越えてきた壁を、自分自身の言葉で語りました。完璧ではないからこそ伝わる、本物のメッセージ。会場には、静かな感動と、次の一歩を踏み出そうとするエネルギーが満ちていました。 TEDx の持つ場の力を体感できる特別な時間となりました。

当日、リスナーとして参加された立命館アジア太平洋大学（APU）の先生からの言葉です。

「大妻中野のTEDにこれまで何回も足を運んでいます。今回もTEDx＠Otsuma Nakanoでは、生徒たちが困難をどのように克服し、それぞれ壁を破ってきたか、その等身大で素直なメッセージを聞くことができ、暖かい気持ちになりました。　このTEDでは、皆さん、完成度も十分に素晴らしいのですが、それにこだわることなく、高校生の今だからこそ伝えたいことに集中していたことに感動しました。今後も溌溂な妻中TEDに期待しています。　今、『自分達さえよければ、今さえよければ』という内向き感が拡がりつつある社会の中で、今日の皆さんの多くのテーマが同世代の国際交流に根ざしていたことにも勇気づけられました。今後も『世界の中の日本』を意識して、中学・高校生活を送ってください。」

今回のTEDxでは、「伝える」ことの本質に向き合った生徒の姿が強く印象に残りました。　参加した生徒の言葉です。

運営・司会生徒（高1）：

　運営とスピーカーの両方を経験する中で、TEDxは単なるイベントではなく、『人と人をつなぐ場づくり』であると実感しました。自分の考えを相手に届く形にすることの難しさと大切さ、そしてチームで何かを作り上げる中でこそ生まれる価値を学びました。また、『リーダーとは指示を出す人ではなく、周囲が主体的に動ける環境をつくる人』という気づきは、将来へつながる大きな財産となりました。さらに英語でここでの学びを記します。

　I am incredibly grateful that I was given the opportunity to organize this once-a-year event. Many aspects of the process were new to me and sometimes challenging, but through these experiences, I was able to learn a great deal and truly enjoy every moment. Being involved not only as the lead organizer but also as the MC allowed me to experience the event from different perspectives and helped me grow in both responsibility and confidence.

　Also, I am truly glad to be part of the TEDxYouth community, especially because of the inspiring talks shared today. Each speaker had an original story to tell, and every talk carried a unique message. Listening to their experiences helped me notice ideas and perspectives I had never thought about before and encouraged me to reflect more deeply on my own views. This experience reminded me of the power of storytelling and meaningful dialogue, and it strengthened my motivation to continue taking part in projects that create space for voices to be heard.

スピーカー生徒（高2）

　妻中のTEDは、自分もいつかチャレンジしたいと思っており、今回、私は、自分の妻中での海外留学の経験をもとにスピーチを作り上げました。自分の弱さや苦しかった経験を人前で語ることは大きな勇気が必要でした。しかし、私自身のその苦しい中での『灯火』は、『人と違う自分を肯定する』ことでした。このTEDxでも、多様な背景を持つ仲間の話を聞き、『違い』こそが学びになると実感しました。また、自分のメッセージがどうすれば聴衆の心に残るのか、どうすれば共感を生み出せるのか―『伝える』ことに徹底的に向き合った経験は、将来、プロフェッショナルなパブリックスピーカーになるための新たな一歩にもなりました。　

　Ever since I first watched TEDx at Otsuma Nakano, I had hoped that one day I would have the courage to stand on that stage myself. This time, I created my speech based on my experience studying abroad in Canada during my H1 period at Otsuma Nakano. It took a great deal of courage to speak openly about my weaknesses and the struggles I went through. During those difficult moments, the “light” that guided me was learning to accept and affirm myself, even when I felt different from others. Through listening to my peers at TEDx—each with their own unique backgrounds—I truly realized that our differences are not obstacles, but opportunities for learning.

I also seriously reflected on how to make my message stay in the audience’s hearts and how to create genuine empathy. Facing the challenge of “communicating” so directly became a meaningful step toward my future goal of becoming a professional public speaker.

TEDxYouthは、プレゼンテーションの場であると同時に、「自分自身と向き合う場」でもあります。自分の経験に意味を見出し、それを社会と共有する力。異なる価値観を尊重しながら対話を生み出す力。そして、未来に向かって一歩踏み出す勇気。　このTEDｘYouth Otsuma Nakano は、本校特別教育顧問として、生徒の取り組みを見守り続けてくださった服部孝彦 大妻女子大学名誉教授は、以下の言葉で締めくくられました。

Your presentations shone with the gentle warmth of lanterns in the dark. Together, you reminded all of us that even when the path ahead feels uncertain, each of us holds the power to create a small light—through our curiosity, our ideas, and the stories we choose to share.

Thank you for showing us that possibilities still exist, even in difficult moments, and that our own inner light can become a source of comfort and encouragement to others. Your voices today did more than express ideas—they offered warmth, hope, and a sense of connection.

Collectively, your presentations became a constellation of lights that brightened the room, and I hope each of you will continue to carry that light with confidence wherever you go.
