探究授業から　「行動し、繋ぐ」　試みへ  –  Beyond School –  難民caféを開催しました！

高校2学年のカリキュラムで行われているGIS（Global Issue Studies）の授業で、「日本にいる難民」について探究を深めたプロジェクトチームが、さらに学校を超えて、行動し、難民Café を開催しました。

生徒達は、探究授業の取り組みで、日本に逃れてきた難民の方々を長年支援していらっしゃる認定NPO法人難民支援協会へのインタビューを通し、今の現状や高校生が出来る支援について、詳しく探究しました。　そして、自分たち自身の力でもこの現状を変えられる事がないかと考え、難民の方々に寄り添い、強く貢献したいという思いからチームでの活動を継続してきました。

その延長で、上智大学Sophia Refugee　Support Group (SRSG)、David Slater教授にご協力いただき、企画に参加していただくイランの方を本校に招き、イランの料理を共に作り、味わい、交流を深めました。

プロジェクトの生徒の振り返りです。

私たちGIS（Global Issue Studiesという授業）のチームは、去る4月12日に難民カフェを開催しました。この企画には何か月もかけていたため最終的に成功でき、とても嬉しいです。

このイベントは参加した人たちが、交流を通して難民の方に対する偏見を無くすことを目標として企画しました。私にとっての一番の難所は食べたことのない料理を作るところでした。　ルビアポロという料理を当日も作り、事前に試作品も作りました。しかし、この味があっているのか、レシピ通りに作れているのかが分からず不安でもありましたが、当日はお越しいただいたイラン出身の難民の方にイラン料理やイランの文化について教えていただきました。参加してくれた生徒も楽しんで料理をしながらイランについても知ることができたのではないかなと思います。

この経験から改めて、偏見を持った予想で人を傷つけないために、実際に会い、知る機会の重要性を感じました。二次情報を通しての理解だけではなく、自分の感覚で見て感じることは必要不可欠だと思います。今後も日本に住んでいる海外の方について学んでいきたいのと同時にその方々の文化に触れられるイベントも企画していこうと思いました。

Our GIS team held a Refugee Café on April 12th. We have been preparing for this project for months, so it was my pleasure to be able to accomplish the event.

We held this event in order for participants to interact and overcome prejudices towards refugees. The hardest part of this event was cooking the meal we had never tried before. We made Lubia Polo, the meal we cooked, before the smooth procedure on the actual event. However, I was not sure if the dish tasted correct or if we had followed the recipe correctly. On the day, Ariana, the Iranian refugee we had invited, taught us about the culture and cuisine of Iran, so I believe the participating students were able to enjoy cooking it.

From this experience, I felt the importance of having a chance to meet and know the culture so as not to unwittingly offend one with stereotypical imagination. It is inevitable to see and feel with one’s senses, but not just understand them through secondary information. I am looking forward to learning more about people from abroad who live in Japan and holding events to interact with their cultures.
