It’s our great pleasure to share new report on Otsuma Nakano new exchange program in New Zealand.  Sacred Heart Girl’s College in New Plymouth offers great opportunities for Otsuma Nakano students to join them for a year / a term exchange program.  Nanaka Watanabe, an Year 10 student of Otsuma Nakano has kicked off her exchange there at Sacred Heart Girls’ College.

Kia Ora!! I am Nanaka Watanabe, an exchange student studying at Sacred Heart Girl’s college, in New Plymouth, New Zealand.　It’s been one week since I arrived here. The weather in New Plymouth where we are staying is often cloudy and windy. The air temperature is about 15 degrees and it’s cold because the season of New Zealand is the opposite of Japan.

In this report, I would like to write about my life in New Plymouth.

There are four people in my host family.  Everyone is very kind and cheerful, so they are always lively. My host mother is a ranger leader of the Girls Guiding New Zealand.  It’s the same as the Girl Scout of Japan. I’m joining the activities every Thursday night.  We are going to play games and cook with children.  Last Thursday, we decided what they would like to do this term.

At school, I take classes with local students. I felt the classes are difficult for me, but I’m trying hard. My teachers and friends always help me.  A lot of my friends gave us a warm welcome.  Last summer I attended the same school as for my school’s two weeks study abroad program.  Last Saturday, I played bowling with my friends from school. We have lunch together every day. It was really fun and we made some good memories.

皆さんこんにちは!! ニュープリマス セイクリッド・ハート・ガールズ・カレッジに留学中の渡辺菜々香です。ニュージーランドに来てから1週間が経ちました。私達が滞在しているニュープリマスは風が強く、曇っている日が多いです。ニュージーランドの季節は日本と逆なので、気温は15℃ぐらいと寒く感じます。

これから私のニュープリマスでの生活について報告したいと思います。

私のホストファミリーは4人家族です。家族はみんなとても優しく、明るいので家はいつも賑やかです。私のホストマザーはガールガイディングのリーダーです。ガールガイディングとは日本のガールズスカウトのようなものです。私は毎週木曜日の夜にその活動に参加しています。私達は今度子供たちと一緒にゲームをしたり料理をしたりする予定です。先週はその計画をたてました。

学校では現地の生徒と一緒に授業を受けています。授業はとても難しく感じますが先生や友達に教えてもらいながら頑張っています。昨夏の学校の2週間プログラムで同じ学校を訪れていたこともあり、多くの友達が私たちを温かく迎えてくれました。先週の土曜日には毎日一緒に昼食を食べている友達とボーリングをしに行きました。とても楽しくて良い思い出になりました。
