Another updated report from New Zealand is the one from Aoi Gomihara at Sacred Heart Girls’ College.

Hello, everyone. I’m Aoi Gomihara, an exchange student studying at Sacred Heart Girl’s College in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Time passes very quickly and more than half of the term 2 have already passed. Anyhow, in this report, I will write about having fun with my kiwi friends and my trip to Rotorua.

The other day I played with my kiwi friends for the first time. I was happy when I was invited to be with them, so I could realize I am getting used to the life in New Zealand.   We played golf and billiards, and we went to Pukekura park.  I could get to know new fascination of New Zealand by playing with local friends.

Next, I will report about my trip with my host family.  We traveled to Rotorua from 1 June to 3. Rotorua is a geothermal field and one of the most popular tourist spots in the north island of New Zealand. I could have a lot of experiences in this trip.

I will let you know some of my experiences there.  The first is about Farm Show. I saw sheep shearing and sheepdogs and so on. I gave milk to baby sheep on the stage, because my host parent recommended to me that I should go up to the stage. I thought I would have never been able to do that if I had been what I used to be. I realized that it is more fun to go to the stage than just to look. I thought it is one of my growth.

Next is about hot spring. The hotel we stayed in had a hot spring. That spa made me feel really nice. Also, I saw Lake Taupo at the final day. Lake Taupo is the largest lake in New Zealand.  The water was very clear.

Like these experiences, I could make amazing memories on this trip.  I want to make much more memories in New Zealand from now on.  Thank you for reading my report.

皆さんこんにちは。セイクレッド・ハート･ガールズ・カレッジに留学中の五味原葵です。ニュージーランドに来てからの時間はあっという間で、既にターム2の半分以上が終了しました。今回は、現地の友達と遊びに行ったこととホストファミリーとの旅行についての2つを書こうと思います。

私は先日、初めて現地の友達と遊びに出かけました。誘ってもらえた時はとても嬉しく、少しずつこっちに馴染めてきていることを実感出来ました。私達はゴルフやビリヤードをしたり、プケクラパークに行ったりしました。現地の子と遊ぶ事でニュープリマスの新たな魅力を知ることが出来ました。

次にホストファミリーとの旅行についてです。 私は6月1日から2泊3日でロトルアというところを旅行してきました。ロトルアは地熱地帯で、北島で1番の観光地です。この旅行で私はたくさんの経験をすることが出来ました。これからその中のいくつかを紹介します。まずは、ファームショーについてです。ファームショーでは羊の毛刈りやシープドッグを見ることが出来ました。また、私はホストファミリーに勧められたので、舞台に出て大勢の観客の前で羊の赤ちゃんにミルクをあげました。昔の私だったら舞台に出ることなど絶対嫌がっていたと思います。けれどいざ舞台に出てみると、ただ見ているだけよりも何倍も楽しむことが出来ると分かりました。これもひとつの成長だと思います。

次に温泉についてです。私達が泊まったホテルには温泉が付いていました。温泉はとても気持ちよく日本を懐かしく思いました。 また、私は最終日にタウプ湖を見ました。タウプ湖はニュージーランドで1番大きな湖です。この湖の水はとても綺麗で透き通っていました。

私はこの2日間でたくさんのすばらしい思い出を作る事が出来ました。これからもニュージーランドでたくさんの思い出を作っていきたいです。 読んで下さりありがとうございました。
