From New Zealand Report on New Plymouth GHS_170626

Here comes another report on Otsuma Nakano study abroad program in New Zealand.   One of the exchange students, Kaho Shimada, will show you her updated school life with her kiwi friends there.

Hi everyone! It's Kaho.  Is it hot in Japan? You know New Zealand is the opposite seasons from Japan so it's winter now!  It is getting so difficult to wake up every morning because of winter here!! Now I would like to write about my last week.

On Thursday, we had an "international dinner " at a restaurant. This dinner was held by only international students.  There were about 80 students from NPGHS, NPBHS, Sacred Heart Girls College ,Francis Douglas Memorial College and Spotswood College. It was fun to eat delicious dinner with them all and talk with other international people. That restaurant was so amazing too because we picked some stuff from a buffet and then, chefs cooked in front of us, so we could eat our own original dinner. They cooked for each student so that was a great job!

At school, I have a best Kiwi friend. She is the same age and she is very very interested in Japan. She likes Japanese movies especially Jiburi movies. She started to study Japanese from last year so I'm her Japanese teacher and she's my English teacher! I think it's good relationship, isn't it? The kiwi friend is going to take me to some famous shops in the city and we'll have lunch together next weekend. It's the first time to go town with a Kiwi friend so I'm little bit nervous. However, she is very kind,so maybe I don't need worry. I can't wait for the next weekend.

Today, we had a Japanese dinner at Wako's house.  We invited Karen's host family,my host family and Teff's family. Wako, Karen, and Wako's host mom and I made a lot of Japanese food! Totally there were 16 people there, so we had to cook a lots and lots of food.  I forgot how many times we cut vegetables and cooked rice. We took about 3 hours to make all of dinner today.  I was sooo tired… but everyone said "yummy ". we were happy!

I have only 2 weeks left!! I becoming to fun my Kiwi life and school life but I have to say good-bye soon. Omg. I don't wanna go back to Japan actually. I'll spend more active time with my host family and friends!

Thank you for reading my report.   The next report will be the final one for me…oh no!  Have a nice week! See-ya !!

Kaho Shimada
