From New Zealand Report on New Plymouth Girls’ HS_170610
Here comes a new report from New Plymouth. Wako Miyazawa, one of the current exchange students for one year study abroad program there, updates the report on her kiwi-life.
Hello everybody! I'm Wako Miyazawa, one of the current exchange students going to New Plymouth Girls' High School, New Zealand. Here, New Plymouth Girls' HS, we had four days holidays one week ago. I would like to report my four days holidays.
During those four days off, we went to a small island, Waihiki, which is located in the north of New Zealand with my host family. It took about one hour to go there from Auckland. It was really fun! The weather forecast had said,"it will be rainy", but actually it was sunny all day and the temperature was nice too.
From my home, we went to Auckland by car. It took us about six hours and from Auckland we used a ferry to go to the island of Waihiki. The temperature was higher than New Plymouth and it was warm enough.
Waihiki island is famous for its olives and wine, so we could see many of them here and there in the island. I can't drink wine yet, but I saw a winary there and I was surprised at those big bottles of wine there. I hadn't eaten olives before, but it was yummy!!
On the second day, we went to beach. I picked up many shelves and I brought them back home. On summer, a lot of people are going to Waihiki island, but it is winter now, so not many people were there. There were many animals but I saw sheep the most. I played cards in the night during our staying on the island. While playing cards, I heard lots of animals crying and I realized again that I am in NZ. Sometimes I heard wolves crying.
My host family loves camping and they told me that we would go there again in summer. I am looking forward to visiting there again.
OverallI can't believe that one month have passed since I came here! And I am so sad that Kano and Karen are going to go back to Japan in one month from now.

皆さんこんにちは！ ニュージーランドに1年間留学中の宮澤和子です。こちらは先週、4連休でした。その4連休中にNZのオークランドからフェリーで1時間位のところにある小さな島、ワイヒキアイランドに連れていってもらいました！ とーーーーっても楽しかったです！雨が予想されていたのですが、ずっと晴れていて気候も最高でした。私の4連休について話したいと思います。
オークランドまでは車で6時間、オークランドからはフェリーで1時間でした。気温はニュープリマスより暖かく、過ごしやすかったです。 ワイヒキ・アイランドはオリーブとワインが有名なそうでたくさん見せていただきました。 私はワインはまだ飲めないのですが、ワインを作っている工場の中も見せていただき、大きな樽にびっくりしました。オリーブはあまり食べたことがなかったのですが美味しかったです！
二日目はビーチにも連れていってもらい、沢山の貝殻を拾って帰って来ました。海がとても綺麗なので夏には沢山の人が訪れるそうですが、こちらは今冬なのであまり人がいなくラッキーでした。沢山動物もいたのですが、やはり羊が1番多かったです。夜はホストファミリーと一緒にカードゲームをしたりして遊びました。遊んでいる間にも動物の泣き声が聞こえてきてNZにいることを再実感しました。時々狼の泣き声も聞こえてきました。
私のホストファミリーはキャンプをすることが好きなそうなので夏にもう一回行ければいいねと話してくれました。楽しみです
もうNZに来てから1ヶ月がたってしまい、早いなぁと思っています。あと1ヶ月で島田さんと菅原さんが帰ってしまうと考えると寂しくて悲しいです。
